Viva Mexico!

Last weekend we took off for a scuba trip to San Carlos, Mexico. It's about 9 hours south of Phoenix, near Guaymas. I pretty much took a vacation from photography as well, leaving the camera in the room most of the time, as can be seen from the scarcity of the photos. The diving was a blast, and there are MANY stories to tell. I feel like I lived through a Jimmy Buffett song. "Wasted away again....."

Cheers.

How many scuba divers does it take to fix a blowout? This was just 40 minutes out of Phoenix at sunrise. What a start to the weekend.

Hurricane John rolled through San Carlos Sunday, making it a bit difficult to go diving, and, despite my fervid reassurances, there is no such thing as a "Hurricane Diver" certification. Wusses.

Instead, we spent of most the day at the bar- hell, it was the only thing open anyways. And what drink do you think we all ordered first? A "Hurricane", naturally.

This is a shot from my balcony right before the storm gathered some intensity at about 10:15 am. Pretty nice view, huh?

Caution: Slippery When Wet. The passageway from my hotel room to the bar. (Didja catch the pun? 'Cause "wet" is an old slang term for being drunk? Ahh, I crack myself up)
